Debrief – Nürburgring Endurance Championship – Round 1

A fairly uneventful trip around the green hell this week. My co-driver for this round was Joe Pinder, who can be found on YouTube or Twitch. I started us off in qualifying and managed a P5 result with my best of the 3 laps I was able to put in. I was able to move us into contention for a podium at one point, but a few slower laps meant that the really quick teams were eventually able to take those positions back. Outside of a single incident where I was unable to avoid an AMG that spun in front of me going into Hohe Acht. By the time I realized he was going around, it was too late to stop. Thankfully the NEC sessions, because they allow iRacing D licenses, come with 1 quick repair, so other than losing a little bit of time, it was otherwise not extremely detrimental.

In all, we started and finished in P5 against a pretty quick group of drivers. I’m hoping to find some more time in it for Round 2 and get a podium at some point this year. In the mean time, enjoy some celebratory doughnuts.
